The government has been urged to intervene into allegations that some criminal minded purported Real Estate dealers in the country are systematically inflicting untold suffering, torture and death at worst among aggrieved families.
The development stems from the recent increased public outcry especially within the Buganda region where thousands of families are clandestinely losing their land or Estates to this group of organized criminals who tend to hide behind powerful persons within government circles and courts of law respectively.
One case in point is Hajji Suleiman Lwamba of Kasanga village. Muluguzzi parish Namayumba town council, Busiro County in Wakiso district who has lost 15 acres of prime land within that village and is seeking the intervention of president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni through his Presidential Taskforce on land and environment of State house.
Hajji Lwamba told this website during an exclusive interview at his residency on Friday 11th September 2025 that his family has faced untold acts of torture, imprisonment, destruction of property and loss of their 15 acres of land a scheme orchestrated by Ronald Mutesasira the alleged proprietor of Tabula Real Estate and property agency the purported dealers in land buying and selling respectively.
He narrated how Mutesasira, allegedly working with the top leadership of the Kakiri police station, allegedly stormed their home and rounded them up, beat them up, and dragged them to the Police, accusing them of committing several crimes.
As this incident concurrently happened, the team of security officers including police with a gang of youth armed with pangas and machetes destroyed 2 ½ acres of coffee plantation, 3 acres of banana plantation, 4 acres of water melon, one acre of passion fruit and one half acre of pawpaw alongside destroying their newly constructed house at wall plate level respectively.
A total of 14 family members upon release on police bond opened up cases at Namayumba police station ranging from assault and causing bodily harm, to destruction of property and killing of animals among other charges but surprisingly the police authorities reportedly failed to probe the incidents but instead charged two sons of Lwamba including Ssemperezza Isma 25 yrs old and Uthman Walukaaga Sulaiman 31 of stealing maize.
The two were produced before the chief magistrate at Kakiri court and remanded at Sentema government prison until 25th September 2025 when their case comes up for mention.
Lwamba himself suffered a broken tooth while his two children, a 13-year-old girl and Ssemperezza, suffered broken legs, occasioned by the police officers during arrest.
Lwamba now wants the immediate intervention of president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni through the presidential taskforce on land and environment of state house led by Brig.Gen.Lukyamuzi to ensure they fully recover their land as well as take action by causing the immediate arrest of the DPC Kakiri police station with his officers that effected the arrest and subsequent torture, destruction of property as well as the arrest of both the current and former area LC1 bosses Wasswa Ben and Swaib Mukiibi for faking sales documents without their consent.
They also want Ronald Mutesasira, the alleged mastermind of the land grab scandal arrested who has dispatched a container which houses the arrow and bow guards currently deployed to protect the disputed land.
His desperate family members who are going hungry without food because the entire farmland which served as their food basket was destroyed and they currently have nothing to eat and are depending on good Samaritans within the village for food handouts.
They also demanded to be taken to hospital for medical attention given that they were beaten badly and have never accessed a medical facility due to lack of resources to foot the hospital bills.
